On not taking responsibility for other people's feelings. On taking responsibility for our own and for our actions.
I spend time with people in conflict in all sorts of organisations, activist groups, cooperatives and other groupings ....it can be difficult to allow our own and other people’s feelings.. and that is the challenge of collaboration and co-existence ...and a sense of hope in progressive movements and communities depends on our capacity to find some acceptance in the fact that we all have feelings!!
Things covered in this short:
How easy it is to take responsibility for other people’s feelings (to think it’s my fault, to feel fear or panic and the consequences of their hurt or upset.)
The distinction between not taking responsibility for other people’s feelings and taking responsibility for my actions and my own feelings.
If you haven’t yet done a Foundation training in Nonviolent Communication, a course begins on Monday 4th November, 6.30-9pm UK time for 5 weeks
